Monumental beauties

The identity of this land, generation after generation, preserves and strengthens itself with the traces of the most ancient history. The first signs of human presence in Sardinia date from the IV and III millennium B.C. There are two deep signs left by prehistory: the domus de janas and the nuraghi, fascinating and complex monuments at times of exceptional value.
The Domus de Janas (homes of the fairies) are burial sites which show architectonic features that reproduce the homes of the living. They are evidence of the faith in an afterlife and rebirth of the dead, giving the sense that it has been built for eternity. The Nuraghi are the sign of an evolved civilisation attentive to one’s civil and social life.
