The three generations experience and professionalism characterise the Sechi’s carpentry, which produces frames, custome-made furniture, sardinian-style hand carved furnishing, main door and furniture repairs. Techonoly is used as a service for the tradition in the frames and furniture building art, which get through the time.
The recovering of raised pictures on private ancient chests, joined to a constant and passionate review on the furniture, and main door carving art ensure the respect of tradition. Pullets, spikes, differently shaped rosettes, notches, and crossed half-circles, are the recurring themes of the sardinian style. The chests were a poor object in farmers and shepherds’ houses and they contained flour, wheat, dry legumes, food-stock for the winter time and the bad times, hand-woven coarse wollen fabric covers, sheeps’ wool and so on…, they had smooth panels and crossing wood stripes on the front side, which formed a rhomb or any other geometric shape. The landowners used to place the trousseau therein, to keep goods and documents, or they used them as a piece of furniture in the hall. They were of excellent workmanship, heavily carved, with a lot of traditional themes. The oldest ones were coloured by using sheep or cow blood, which became dull dark wine-coloured. Recently they used to be polished with black grease for boots.
The ancient drawings give life to, and increase the value of, pieces of furniture and fittings which, thanks to their simplicity, elegance and solidity, decorate every room in the house, making it as familiar as the tradition.
